400g Tin of Petticoat Tails
Four individually wrapped rounds which each break into six triangular-shaped "petticoat tails". This curious name is said to be derived either from the French "petites gallettes" meaning little cakes or from the fact that the shape of the biscuits resembles the shape of the petticoats worn under Elizabethan full gored skirts.£ (PTTIN)

Each tin contains ten round shortbread biscuits, sealed in a bag within the tin.The biscuits are all individually cut by hand using the traditional, flute-edged cutters which have been used by Scottish housewives in their kitchens for centuries. A docker is run over the surface of the biscuits by hand to give the authentic homemade appearance and crisper texture for which Shortbread House is renowned.
